He thought little of his own safety and had a burning desire to show war as it was. In his 10 years of work in Vietnam, Yasutsune “Tony” Hirashiki would become a legend among the news media covering the war. But it often was Hirashiki’s footage that told the story more eloquently and dramatically than any words that I or other correspondents could muster.
